ABOUT THE AUTHOR

About Ken West

Writer, author, and lifelong student of individual freedom, achievement, capitalism, and independent thought.

I have spent much of my life asking a practical question: What helps an individual think more clearly, act more purposefully, and build a better life?

That question has taken me through business, writing, workshops, books, personal achievement, economics, philosophy, and political freedom.

For years I traveled the country leading workshops and seminars. Later, I turned more of my attention to writing. My books and articles have explored personal achievement, purpose, writing, capitalism, individual rights, and the connection between freedom and human flourishing.

Why Individual Capitalism?

I use the term Individual Capitalism to keep the focus where I believe it belongs: on the person who thinks, chooses, works, produces, owns, trades, risks, saves, creates, and pursues a purpose.

Capitalism is often discussed from 30,000 feet through corporations, GDP, markets, inequality, and government policy. Those subjects matter. But they can obscure the individual human being whose choices make economic life possible in the first place.

This site brings my Individual Capitalism essays together as a connected Library. Some articles develop principles. Others examine objections, history, economic systems, and real-world cases. The Get What You Want section turns the same individual-first approach toward personal achievement.

What I hope you do here

Read. Question. Disagree when you have reason to disagree. Follow the evidence. Test the arguments. Keep what survives your own judgment.

I am not asking you to surrender your mind to Individual Capitalism. I am asking you to use it.
