PERSONAL FREEDOM & ACHIEVEMENT

Get What You Want

Freedom gives you room to choose. This seven-step process helps you decide what you want to do with it.

An interactive self-discovery roadmap

The original workbook asks you to write honestly for your own eyes. This web version keeps that principle. The questions below are prompts for your private thinking. The site does not collect your answers.

Open each step. Write your answers in a notebook, document, or whatever private method works best for you.

Step 1: Exploit Your Passion

Passion is the emotional energy behind what matters most to you. Begin by identifying what gives your life energy and meaning.

  • What is important to me now?
  • What makes life truly worthwhile to me?
  • What was I passionate about when I was younger?
  • What am I passionate about now?
Step 2: Seek Your Dreams

Your dreams are desired future realities. Bring them into focus before you decide how to reach them.

  • What are my dreams today?
  • Which dreams are still possible?
  • What one dream matters most to me now?
  • What price may I have to pay to achieve it?
  • What would I pursue if I knew it was impossible to fail?
  • What can I do in the next 20 minutes to get closer?
Step 3: Choose Your Purpose

Your purpose is the direction you choose to take your life toward your dreams. It is a self-chosen path, not an assignment from someone else.

  • Am I traveling in the right direction?
  • What do I most want to accomplish in my lifetime?
  • Based on my passion and dreams, what is my immediate purpose?
  • What knowledge or skills do I need?
  • How can I state my purpose simply and precisely?
Step 4: Identify Your Goals

Goals are the major destinations and projects that move you along the path of your purpose toward a dream.

  • What dream do I want to accomplish first?
  • What goals are necessary to achieve it?
  • Which goal comes first?
  • What target date will I set?
Step 5: Divide Goals into Tasks

Tasks are the daily action steps that get goals done. A goal becomes manageable when you divide it into small jobs you can actually do.

  • What tasks are necessary to complete my first goal?
  • How will I prioritize them?
  • What belongs on today’s to-do list?
  • Which task can I complete in 20 minutes?
Step 6: Avoid Crab Buckets

Crab buckets are negativity traps that can drain your time, energy, confidence, and ambition. They may come from other people, situations, fear, criticism, pessimism, envy, or your own self-doubt.

  • What people or situations drain my energy the most?
  • What specific crab buckets must I avoid?
  • Which old negativity traps still affect me?
  • What early-warning signs tell me I am slipping into one?
Step 7: Achieve Your Dreams

Now connect the entire chain: passion, dream, purpose, goals, tasks, and the obstacles you must avoid. Achievement comes from acting on the plan and adjusting it as reality teaches you more.

  • What dream am I pursuing first?
  • When do I want to achieve it?
  • What is my first goal?
  • What are my next three tasks?
  • What could derail me?
  • What will I do next?

My Personal Action Plan

  • My Passion
  • My Dream
  • My Purpose
  • My First Goal
  • My Next Three Tasks
  • My Obstacles and Crab Buckets
  • My Next 20-Minute Action

You do not need a perfect lifetime plan. You need enough clarity to take the next purposeful action.

Get What You Want is the application side of Individual Capitalism: your life, your direction, your choices, and your responsibility to act.
